Protein Pasta Bake

Quick—- check your pantry ! Today I realized I had to make a quick dinner using what I had at home. I checked my pantry and found some all wheat protein pasta, along with some jarred marinara sauce and decode to cook up some type of pasta bake. I always have ground turkey on hand and wanted to use that up, but you can honestly use what you have— ground beef would substitute great as well. Here’s how I made it—-

What you’ll need:

Servings: 4-6

  • 8oz wheat protein pasta

  • 17oz jar marinara sauce

  • 6oz frozen green peas

  • 1.5 lbs ground turkey

  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon

  • salt

  • black pepper

  • shredded cheese

Instructions:

  1. Start off by preparing pasta by box instructions— drain and set to the side.

  2. Heat up a skillet pan to medium high heat and add some olive oil. Once pan is warmed through add in ground turkey followed by the following seasonings— minced garlic cloves, onion powder, dried oregano, chicken bouillon, salt and black pepper. Stir fry.

  3. Once ground turkey is 75% cooked through, add in frozen green peas and continue to stir fry until ground turkey is completley cooked through and set to the side.

4. Using a baking dish— assemble by layering down cooked pasta, followed by ground turkey green pea mixture, pour marinara sauce right on top, and sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese on top .

5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for about 15-20 minutes or until everything is warmed through and cheese is melted

*You can also airfry at 300F for about 10-15 minutes

6. Remove pasta bake from oven and let set on the side for about 15-20 minutes before enjoying.

*So delicious with a side of baby spinach or spring mix greens!
