Thai Chili Salt— Spicy Fruit Dip

Caution, you have been warned ! This fruit dip is not only salty, sweet, sour, but SUPER SPICY at the same time !! I love making this when i’m craving everything and the moon lol— it satisfys the cravings every single time . I am eating with pickles, limes, and some candies today, but this dip works with almost anything ! I also enjoy eating it with cucumbers, mangoes, oranges, and watermelon (: . If you can’t handle the heat, use less Thai chili pepper— just know if won’t be as pastey, but still delicious !

What you’ll need:

Servings 3-5

  • 3 Thai chill peppers

  • 1 tsp coarse salt (or flakey salt)

  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder

  • 2-3 tsp tamarind soup powder

  • 1 tsp sugar (optional— this will make dip less spicy)

  • mortar and pestle

  • pickles, limes, fruits, candies to dip

Instructions:

  1. Make sure all fruit and peppers are clean and dry

  2. Add Thai chili peppers into mortar, followed. by coarse salt, chicken bouillon power, tamarind soup powder, and sugar .

  3. Use pestle to pound ingredients until chili peppers turn into a paste .

  4. Don’t forget to taste and adjust (:

  5. Transfer fruit dip into a small bowl and serve with pickles, limes, and candies of choice .

  6. Enjoy right away !
