Animal Style Beef Lettuce Wraps
These ground beef lettuce wraps inspired by IN N OUT “animal style” are sure to curve your burger cravings and without the extra carbs . The ground beef is tangy and savory . The sauce jammed packed with zesty flavors and the dill pickles give it a nice bite. The caramelized onions are the icing on the cake— sweet, charred, and delicious. I ended up adding diced tomatoes on top and it gave the wrap the perfect refreshing juicy pop ! Feel free to add cheese and customize to your own liking . Instructions:
Heat up a skillet pan on med-high heat and add some olive oil. Once pan warms through, add in diced sweet onions and stir fry. Stir in some honey for extra sweetness and color. Once onions get soft, lower heat to medium-low and continue stir frying until onions become caramelized— golden brown in color. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
Add ground beef to a mixing bowl and season with garlic powder, paprika, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Add some olive oil to a clean skillet pan and add in ground beef once pan heats through. Stir fry until ground beef is cooked completley. Discard excess fat . Transfer ground beef to a bowl and set aside.
Make sauce- combine diced dill pickles and equal parts mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup in a mixing bowl. Stir well to combine. Set aside.
Assemble and enjoy— romaine lettuce, some ground beef, followed by sauce and caramelized onions on top! Add diced tomatoes for a nice refreshing juicy pop. YUM!
