Viral Ricepaper Croissants— Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich
Tasty posted a rice paper hack and I had to jump on this trend ! I of course had to make mine in the air fryer as a savory version using ham, pate, cheese, and cilantro— inspired by my favorite banh mi sandwich ! The rice paper croissant comes out flakey and lightly crisp on the outside and with its of chewy layers in the interior— it taste like A CROISSANT MOCHI HYBRID BREAD; MUST TRY my sandwich version !
Instructions:
Start off by cracking 3 eggs into a large shallow dish . Add in milk and season with hot Maggie, white pepper, and honey . Mix well to combine .
Take one sheet of rice paper at at time and immerse completely . (do not let rice paper sit in eggwash— remove right away after immersion).
Lay down egg wash-soaked rice paper onto a clean and flat surface. Repeat until you have 3 soaked rice papers stacked on top of each other .
Using kitchen shears, carefully cut a “triangle” shape right out of the middle of the stacked eggwash rice paper sheets . (This will create 3 individual shapes).
On the “middle triangle” shape— layer some ham on top .
Then take one of the other individual shapes and layer that exactly right on top.
Now add some pate and japanese mayo over that second layer .
Take the last individual shape and this time instead of following the shape’s exact pattern, turn it “hamburger style'“ and place it over the pate/mayo like sideways blanket .
See VIDEO FOR examples (:
Now gently roll up and create a “croissant shape” by turning in the corners as much as possible .
Add a sliced jalapeño on top and sprinkle some cheese over the croissants .
Place croissants in an air fryer basket and air fry at 350F for about 10 minutes .
Once croissants are golden and crisp on the outside, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro .
ENJOY right way !
*I dipped mine in sriracha and it was sooo tasty !
