The Ultimate Dipping Sauce
The name should be ALL purpose dipping sauce because this stuff is FIRE. It’s spicy, sour, sweet, and umami . I love using it as a dipping sauce for springrolls , salads, meats, seafoods, sandwiches—pretty much ANYTHING . Im telling you, the possibilities are endless.
What you’ll need:
1 cup fish sauce
1 cup water
2 tsps sugar
2-3 limes
10 garlic cloves
8 thai chilis
1 small shallot
Instructions:
Start off by combining equal parts fish sauce and drinking water in a large jar with lid .
Add sugar and lime juice.
Taste and adjust seasonings to your taste .
Once flavor is to desired liking, set to the side .
Heat up a shallow pan with a little olive oil .
Once pan is heated through— Stir fry minced aromatics until fragrant and garlic is slightly crisp .
Once aromatics are completely cool— add sauce mixture .
Sauce is ready as is, or store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks!
*TIP* I love adding chopped fresh cilantro, green onions, and basil to my individual dipping bowl for added flavor !
