The Ultimate Dipping Sauce

The name should be ALL purpose dipping sauce because this stuff is FIRE. It’s spicy, sour, sweet, and umami . I love using it as a dipping sauce for springrolls , salads, meats, seafoods, sandwiches—pretty much ANYTHING . Im telling you, the possibilities are endless.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup fish sauce

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tsps sugar

  • 2-3 limes

  • 10 garlic cloves

  • 8 thai chilis

  • 1 small shallot

Instructions:

  1. Start off by combining equal parts fish sauce and drinking water in a large jar with lid .

  2. Add sugar and lime juice.

  3. Taste and adjust seasonings to your taste .

  4. Once flavor is to desired liking, set to the side .

  5. Heat up a shallow pan with a little olive oil .

  6. Once pan is heated through— Stir fry minced aromatics until fragrant and garlic is slightly crisp .

  7. Once aromatics are completely cool— add sauce mixture .

*TIP* I love adding chopped fresh cilantro, green onions, and basil to my individual dipping bowl for added flavor !
