Stuffed Jalapenos (Copycat Jack In The Box)
Jack in the box has the best jalapeño poppers in my opinion . There’s just something so basic, yet sooo bougie when it comes to their filling . Today, were remaking them, but with a twist ! In the video I ran out of flour for the dredging station, so my Panko breadcrumbs didn’t really stay— regardless, tthis recipe still is amazing and you can customize it to your own liking (try bacon-wrapping for a smokey and salty kick). These would be a great appetizer to share or make triple the amount and serve at the next potluck .
Instructions:
Start off by rinsing jalapenos, green onions, and pat dry .
Cut off and discard green onion stems . Thinly slice the green parts of the green onion . Set aside .
Wear gloves when handling jalapenos— Cut the tops off the jalapenos and remove insides/seeds . (Or you can also slice in half longways) . Set aside .
Prep cream cheese filling by combining cream cheese, Japanese mayonnaise, onion powder, pinch of garlic salt, sliced green onions, and shredded cheese . Mix well .
Set up your dredging station— one shallow plate with flour, separate shallow plate with Panko breadcrumbs, and one bowl with beaten egg .
Take one jalapeño at a time and fill with cream cheese mixture all the way to the top . Then gently roll stuffed Jalapeño into flour, then into beaten egg, then into Panko . Repeat steps if you’d like a double batter . Continue until all jalapenos are stuffed and dredged .
Line parchment paper into airfryer and carefully place japapenos inside in one even single layer . Airfry at 350F for about 10-12 minutes and make sure to flip them halfway through cook time if kept whole . (do not disturb if halved).
Once jalapeños are slightly blistered and the Panko is golden and crisp— carefully transfer them to a serving dish with your favorite ranch for dipping . Let them cool slightly before enjoying !
