Loc Lac

The most simplest, yet most satisfying dishes you will ever make. Loc Lac translates to “shaking beef” based on how the dish is cooked. Loc lac is basically an asian style marinated savory beef dish. It also has so many difference versions and everyone makes it differently.. regardless, they’re all delicious.

What you'‘ll need:

Servings: 4-6

  • 2 lbs try tip steak

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp fish sauce

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 tsp oyster sauce

  • black pepper

  • tomatoes

  • romaine lettuce

  • 2-3 limes

  • salt

  • eggs (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare steak.

    -Slice tri top into bite sized pieces. (Slices or cubes based on your preference)

    -Transfer to a mixing bowl and season with soy sauce, fish sauce, cornstarch, honey, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Combine well

  2. Chop garlic cloves and add to steak mixing bowl. Combine well.

  3. While steak is marinating, prepare dipping sauce.

    -Squeeze lime juice into a dipping sauce bowl and season with salt and back pepper… that’s it.

  4. Prepare vegetables

    -Wash and oat dry vegetables

    - Prepare romaine lettuce and separate leaves.

    -Cut tomatoes into 1/4 in slices

  5. If adding eggs, you can do scrambled, over easy, or hard boiled. They will be used as a side dish.

  6. Cook steak!

  7. To a medium-hot wok or skillet, add a few tables of olive oil or oil of choice.

  8. Once wok is smoking, throw in the marinated steak and spread in an even layer. Do not disturb the steak so that it forms a nice sear. After a few minutes start to stir fry until steak is cooked to your liking.

  9. Serve up the dish with the fresh vegetables and eggs.

  10. To enjoy, eat over a bed of rice, eat as a lettuce wrap, or with a French baguette as a sandwich!
