Cream Cheese and Chive Wontons (Airfryer Wontons)
After sharing my crab toast recipe, I started to get an intense craving for wontons, so I had to reshare one of my most viral TikTok recipes (over 5+ million views). Here is my basic, yet soooo bougie take on a classic . Feel free to customize the fillings to your own liking— these are amazing using the crab rangoon toast filling ! As always, thank you for always sharing your foodie posts/photos with me !
Instructions:
Start off by rinsing and drying green onions . Discard the green onion stems and thinly slice the green parts . Set aside .
Add cream cheese to a bowl and season with ponzu sauce, sesame oil, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese . Add as much sliced green onions to taste . Mix well to combine .
To a separate small bowl, mix together equal parts water and cornstarch. This will be the “glue” to hold your wontons together . (You can also use a beaten egg).
Assmble wontons one by one . Add a tsp of cream cheese mixture to the center of wonton.
Dip finger into cornstarch slurry and trace the outer corners of wonton. Take the opposite corner and carefully fold over to create a triangular shape . Pinch together to secure . Continue until all wontons are made .
Brush each side of wontons with olive oil and arrange them in your airfryer basket .
Airfry wontons at 350F for about 10-12 minutes . Be sure to flip halfway through cooking time . Wontons should be crisp on both sides and have a golden color on the edges .
Transfer cooked wontons to a serving plate with sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping . Let cool for a few minutes before enjoying !
