Airfryer Crispy Tofu!

Learning how to crisp up tofu is ESSENTIAL. Learning to crisp up tofu in an airfryer is SUPERIOR…. and super easy.

What you’ll need:

  • block of FIRM tofu

  • salt and pepper

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Freeze entire sealed tofu package for at least 8 hours, or until completely frozen

  2. Once sealed tofu package is completely frozen, let thaw overnight in fridgerator or until completely thawed. (Keep in sealed package).

    -DO NOT SKIP FREEZE STEP. THIS IS CRUCIAL. (Steps 1&2)

  3. Once tofu package is completely thawed, cut open tofu package and remove tofu block from package. Remove excess water by squeezing tofu between your hands gently. (Liquid should come out pretty easily because of the freezing step).

  4. Remove even more liquid by placing tofu between paper towels and pressing down gently. Be careful not to break tofu block.

  5. Once liquid is removed, prepare tofu by slicing in half 4 times until left with 16 bite sized blocks

  6. Add tofu blocks into mixing bowl and season with soy sauce and sesame oil (optional) .Toss gently to coat tofu blocks.

  7. Add tofu blocks into airfryer in single layer.

  8. Airfry at 400 F for about 20 minutes, shake halfway though

  9. If using tofu for garlic jalapeno recipe, follow instructions there.

  10. if eating crispy tofu as a snack, season with flakey salt and black pepper while they’re hot

  11. Enjoy right away ! Serve with a sweet chili sauce for dipping!
