The Viral Ramen Hack (Shin Ramen GREEN)
In honor of Tiktok, the viral ramen hack has been a thing since the pandemic and we all know it’s delicious ! —This recipe video is ramen-review focused and after two weeks of recovering from the flu, I FINALLY have my tastebuds back —and of course the first meal has to be spicy noodles lol . We are huge fans of the regular shin ramen red bag and when we saw the green bag, we knew we had to try it out —spoiler alert; I liked them, but I still think the original is better than the vegetarian version (if you’re not a mushroom fan, these are not for you) . My daughter absolutely loved them more than the original, so I high suggest trying them for yourself !
Instructions:
Start off by preparing ramen noodles based off package instructions . My shin ramen green said boil for about 4 minutes . (Save the ramen seasonings— do not add to soup broth).
Add in toppings— i’m using clean enoki mushrooms, mozzarella filled rice cakes, beancurd skins, and sliced egg-tofu .
While pot is simmering, prep garnishes . Clean cucumber and green onions . Slice cucumber into thin strands and chop green onions . Set aside .
To your ramen serving bowl, add in one egg yolk, about 1 tbsp japanese mayo, and the ramen seasoning packets saved from earlier.
Carefully take about 1 cup of the boiled ramen water itself and slowly start to pour it over the ramen bowl while mixing at the same time . (This will start to cook your egg yolk and create the creamy ramen broth).
Drain your ramen noodles along with all of the toppings and add them directly into the creamy ramen broth . Gently toss and fold to distribute well .
Garnish with fried garlic, sliced cucumbers, and green onions. Enjoy right away!
