Cheesesteak
Cheesesteaks— two ways . This is a delicious steak and veggies recipe thats perfect to put into a baguette as a cheesesteak sandwich !! I also made some as lettuce wraps that were just as amazing . Feel free to customize ingredients to your liking and if you don’t have a food torch to melt your cheese— you can easily melt your cheese under your broiler or in your air fryer (:
Instructions:
Start off my prepping ingredients— thinly slice steak—clean and slice veggies . Set to the side .
Add thinly sliced steak to a large mixing bowl and season with garlic salt, onion powder, black pepper, worchestchire sauce, and dried oregano . Mix well .
Add some olive oil to a large shallow pan and heat up to medium-high . Once pan is warmed through— add in sliced onions and stir fry until onions are semi carmelized, golden, and translucent .
Once onions are cooked though, lower heat to medium-low and add in sliced bell peppers and mushrooms . Lightly season veggies with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and a pinch of butter if desired . Continue stir frying until veggies are cooked to your liking and transfer to a heat-safe bowl .
Return shallow pan to stove, add more olive oil, and heat up to medium-high . Add sliced steak to pan and distribute evenly— do not disturb steak for 1-3 minutes so that way meat can get a nice sear .
Once steak is seared golden on one side— continue stir frying until steak is cooked to your liking . Taste and adjust seasonings if needed .
Lower heat to low-low and add cooked vegetables back in . Mix well to combine and turn off heat .
Assemble— if making sandwiches; prep baguette by slicing and air frying to toast at 300F for about 3-5 minutes . Once toasted, remove some inner bread to create a “boat” to fill with steak/veggie mixture . Spread some mayonnaise on bread and fill boat with steak/veggies . Top with provolone cheese and melt cheese by broiling ( broil high for about 2-5 minutes) or airfrying (airfry at 330F for about 5 minutes) . Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired .
*If making lettuce wraps; prep romaine lettuce by gently break down spines for easier consumption, then adding in steak/veggie mixture . Top with chopped cilantro, chili flakes, and cheese if desired .
ENJOY right away (:
